on Anne R. Allen:
Meh. With a Shrug.
The book’s not terrible. Not at all. The settings are well-drawn, the dialogue’s more than halfway decent, the reader can even tell one character from another — but, bottom line, it’s meh. With a shrug.
Something’s missing.
What’s the x factor?
What’s the mysterious something that turns meh into mahvelous?
There may be a brilliant book somewhere that was written by a committee…but I haven’t found it yet. 🙂

Learn to trust your instincts, they’re almost always right … and when they’re not, it doesn’t hurt to take another look at e’m. 🙂

Well, if you follow all the advices of people who want to help you will never find your voice. As most authors I worked as an editor as well. And now the paradox, my best advice for authors, don’t follow other people’s advices. It doesn’t work.
All the best
