Getting people — and kids, in particular — to read and write has long been a passion of mine. You may remember my post, Reading Tricks for Kids of Any Age, originally written for Mom’s Favorite Reads.

  1. Wow! This article is brilliant and so timely for me as I work with my nine-year-old son on developing his writing skills. Not his favorite activity by any means, but he’s steadily warming up to it month by month and year by year. I can vouch for the fact that reading is truly a beneficial aid in improving writing skills. As a writer who loves to read and a mother who loves her child, music to my ears comes in the form of hearing, “Mom, I don’t just like to read. I love reading.”
