Helpful Facebook Tips for Authors

facebook worldSince I’ve been putting more effort into Facebook, I’m actually starting to build a network, something which has eluded me before.

The downside is that you have to be careful adding friends. I was asked personal information about my marriage by two different guys today who tried to chat me up. Seriously? Yuck. That doesn’t even count the ones who mostly posted stuff about scantily clad women who don’t look as though they’re putting much effort into their intellectual capacity. Those accounts didn’t get their requests approved. There are some extremely weird people out there. One guy had Hitler pics on his home page.

So don’t just blindly befriend people because you’re tired. Don’t add people who you can’t see their feed until after you’ve approved their request. I’m telling you this as a friend.

  1. I haven’t read this entire post. I will, but I am a sufferer of short-term- memory-loss and so want to comment on what you say at the beginning here, lest I forget!

    Those “Guys wanting to chat you up? And posting scantily clothed women? Those are not real. They’re scams or predators. Disregard. Do not friend. Report and Delete! You probably know all this! But best to be Safe than Sorry! My computer got infected because of one of those idiots once, and thing is there are more than a few that are run purely by software. Software designed to strip vital info from your device…Bank-account, etc.…
