Who Are You Really? A DNA Journey

What would your DNA say about YOU?
I already know, from doing genealogy in my twenties, that I have English, Scots, Irish, Welsh, French and Belgian ancestors, but I’d love to find out more…
BTW, as humans, no matter what colour we are or where we live now, we all originated from someone in the African Continent and therefore WE ARE ALL RELATED!

  1. I actually did one of the DNA tests to trace my background. It turned out I was, as suspected, 90% Italian. I was surprised to find that I’m also 7% British and 3% Middle Eastern. Must be that Sicilian blood.

  2. Now this is a little dodgy subject for me. You see, my Mum hated anything to do with having your dna or blood group or ethnic background put on record regardless of what record as she said the government had access to everything anyway. A little while back I got an e-mail asking for those with Romany bloodlines to participate in a dna test, well, Mum`s words haunted me and I declined. I asked her why she held those views and she said “look what Hitler did to the jews. It wasn`t just the jews, he decimated and killed gypsy`s too.” So although I really want to know my background, I`ll pass for now. lol

  3. I’m supposed to have Native American somewhere on the French Canadian side. I can tell you for sure what the heritage will show after 1876 on the French Canadian side and a little further back on the Irish side of the family, but everything past that is a mystery. 🙂 If those test weren’t so expensive, it would be fascinating to find out.
