  1. Maps, to me, are a vital part of fuelling the sense of wonder that drives people to read the fantasy book. It’s what got me into Tolkien, and I’ve never looked back from that. Square mountain ranges and all.

  2. I’m a sucker for books with maps! As everybody knows, each book in my termite series has a map, and I used colored versions on the back cover for five of them.
