Thanks for sharing Chris. What are your thoughts on a free book in a series as a gift for increasing your database? So not free for all, but free for a selected few.

I think that having the FIRST book of a series may have benefits, but to offer a Series Free? NO…
If the books are NOT a series, but each one is a standalone, offering the best received / most reviewed one as a Limited freebie, it will give readers / potential fans a taste for the writing style and skills of the author.
Some authors have staggered free or discounted book promos that eventually take in their entire output of books – again, I feel this is not advisable and smacks of desperation (to me).
But when it all comes down to it, the author needs to decide Fiona.

I read this on her blog, there are some real great thoughts on this subject…. A taster for free, I guess that’s fine, but yes, put a value on all that effort you have made to write!!!

Like you said, a sample, just like when you go to the supermarket and they give you a thin slice of that lip-smacking hickory smoked ham… they’ll never give you the whole leg for free! 🙂 Thanks for reading.
