Thanks for this Alice 😀
It makes me wonder how MY blog stacks up (and if people are being pestered by an annoying square pops up that wants to have the visitor’s email address)…

Thanks for sharing this post. I wrote in my blog, about peoples Gravitar, and how when (we) they like a post, that little picture shows up. I was shocked on the large number of persons whose has nothing more than a picture. Nothing to say where their blog, website or social media is found. I encourage everyone to add something more than the about me. I believe each can reach a larger audience by simply completion of the Gravatar

And no, Chris, your blog does not have any annoying pop-ups, asking for emails or otherwise. 😀

My #1 reason for not reading a blog is boredom. If I’m bored in the first few sentences, you’ve lost me.
Don’t usually have that problem here, Chris.
Often click the ‘view original’ button without coming back to click the ‘like’ button here. Sorry. You deserve lots more of my ‘likes’ than you get.

Never bored by Chris, that’s another issue. Bloggers who zap my time!

I’m glad Alice – I try to have as much variation as I can, with only the Guest Author posts, the fortnightly Editing series by Susan, monthly posts by Danny the Dog and Zoe the Cat, plus of course, the infamous Monday Funnies being the backbone of the blog 😀

I can certainly agree with #1 — I simply like to give people the respect of calling them by name. Great choice for a reblog, Ape. Hugs.

Hear, hear, Teagan! Now, where is “Cut the Crap”? I can never remember her name and it’s nowhere to be found on her blog when I go there to try to find it!! (HINT HINT HINT) 🙂

Hi Susan. That would be Teresa (Tess) of the lovely China travelogues, and 100 Word Challenges. https://letscutthecrap.wordpress.com/

A very good post and most informative. But you left out #11. I don’t read other blogs because I don’t really care what humans have to say. I say we need more dog bloggers. You humans never address the more important things in life. I have yet to see a blog dedicated to sniffing where another dog has gone (if you know what I mean) before. If you go to my blog, I write about the joys of finding an age-old chicken bone and devouring it before my stupid human can get it away from me. I rhapsodize about barking in the night. So much fun. I give my fellow canines tips on conning their humans out of additional treats. The sad eyes routine works the best. If you are a dog and you are reading this, you’ll be able to find my blog. But if you happen to be a human, please give my blog a pass . . . you just won’t get it.

Danny, I am a dumb human who doesn’t get barking through the night but will be the first to jump on the fence to defend you against humans who think that animal rights do not exist.
