People born in the 50’s have lived in seven decades, two centuries and two millenniums. We had the best music, fastest cars, drive-in theatres, soda fountains and happy days. And we are not even that old yet. We’re just that COOL.

Ooh Chris, methinks I do not want a Touch Pad Kindle Fire if they do the same thing. My Ipad has been updated and the keyboard is worse, if anything.

Yup – born in the 50’s. It was time to reinvent myself – again. I found you because I commented on OM’s blog about the spam trolls and you posted a comment right before me. Who on earth could ignore the name of a blog called, The Story Reading Ape? So I go there and low and behold, there are blog posts about all the things I have been researching because a couple months ago I started to write the book “Inside the Forbidden Outside” ( recent title change from InsideOut because I found that word phrase has been over used.) There i9s a sequel planned for this book. My blog was started at the end of 2013 really as an outline for the subject matter my blog is about – the life of Jamie Cummings and his path through our injustice system and is currently housed in a prison in Texas. I am definitely an expert at prison related info from personal to political. I’ve had so many questions about how to do things right, which way to go, and I’ve been drinking up every bit of information I could lay my eyes on. I haven’t published anything other than this blog but I’ve written many things in my life. Now I want it to be for real. I have more determination than any one person usually has and fear of failure doesn’t exist for me. I’ve jumped off plenty of cliffs in my time ( not literally. I’m a wuss when it comes to heights.) So i will be back and back again. I’m running for that cliff right now . . . .
Welcome Sonni – you’ll find authors resources and more information about writing, editing, publishing, marketing, etc, than you can shake a stick at – why not check out my Authors submissions guidelines and send me YOUR introduction article and story 😀
What about someone born in the late thirties? I have been through all of the above, plus one world war, several other conflicts ( though not actually a part if those like the Berlin Lift, the Korean War cannot remember what decade that was etc.) going towards my 80s, though not there yet. Beales mania, the New Look, rationing, gas masks, the blackout, foid shortage, coupons for foid and clothing, even if you had the money. I have seen many things, horse-drawn delivery vehicles as a norm. Been there, done that. Lived through bombs dropping not far away. Doodlebugs ( V1 and V2 rockets, the very beginnings of our forays to the moon.

Thank you Chris, though many would thunk me a Dodo now. And I have not seen a small percent of it all. Apologies fo my dyslexic Ipad, no really!

I can relate to that. When I type on my Nook, which i ike to do when i wake and before i go to sleep, even though I carefully spell out a word it thinks it knows better than me what I want to say – and even when I correct it over and over it sometimes won’t type the word I want. I found, though, that if I start cussing at it loudly I can shock it into behaving. Poor thing. It’s been cussed at a lot.
But my lap top has a hard time capitalizing “i” and it doesn’t like to print the a small L. It’s also hard to see on the screen if I corrected them all. Hence all the small i’s
I was born in the late ’60s, but I like early rock ‘n’ roll as influenced by gospel and blues. Does that count? Whatever they say about Jerry Lee Lewis, he played a mean piano! Sun Records was tops! http://www.sunrecords.com/
Suzanbe, I lived through all the Elvis andother singers times, but I was getting past teenage then.
