Born in the 1950’s?

People born in the 50’s have lived in seven decades, two centuries and two millenniums. We had the best music, fastest cars, drive-in theatres, soda fountains and happy days. And we are not even that old yet. We’re just that COOL.

  1. Yup – born in the 50’s. It was time to reinvent myself – again. I found you because I commented on OM’s blog about the spam trolls and you posted a comment right before me. Who on earth could ignore the name of a blog called, The Story Reading Ape? So I go there and low and behold, there are blog posts about all the things I have been researching because a couple months ago I started to write the book “Inside the Forbidden Outside” ( recent title change from InsideOut because I found that word phrase has been over used.) There i9s a sequel planned for this book. My blog was started at the end of 2013 really as an outline for the subject matter my blog is about – the life of Jamie Cummings and his path through our injustice system and is currently housed in a prison in Texas. I am definitely an expert at prison related info from personal to political. I’ve had so many questions about how to do things right, which way to go, and I’ve been drinking up every bit of information I could lay my eyes on. I haven’t published anything other than this blog but I’ve written many things in my life. Now I want it to be for real. I have more determination than any one person usually has and fear of failure doesn’t exist for me. I’ve jumped off plenty of cliffs in my time ( not literally. I’m a wuss when it comes to heights.) So i will be back and back again. I’m running for that cliff right now . . . .

  2. What about someone born in the late thirties? I have been through all of the above, plus one world war, several other conflicts ( though not actually a part if those like the Berlin Lift, the Korean War cannot remember what decade that was etc.) going towards my 80s, though not there yet. Beales mania, the New Look, rationing, gas masks, the blackout, foid shortage, coupons for foid and clothing, even if you had the money. I have seen many things, horse-drawn delivery vehicles as a norm. Been there, done that. Lived through bombs dropping not far away. Doodlebugs ( V1 and V2 rockets, the very beginnings of our forays to the moon.
