To all my lovely blog readers …

I regret to say that the latest so called ‘Wordpress enhancements’ have left me with no way to add embedded links, or even see the editing options in a form I can use.

So I am cancelling my dot com address which will revert to a WordPress address so I can continue to follow you guys and leave likes and the occasional comments.

I will continue to post my Monday Funnies for as long as possible, but unable to post links to writing articles.

I’ve enjoyed being part of the writers community immensely over the past 14 years and hope I’ve helped you talented writers in some small way.

If you don’t see any Monday Funnies posts, you’ll know that WordPress has completely screwed me up.

Love you all and thank you for the journey and your stories.

  1. I don’t often embed stuff, but since I have trouble with photos showing properly, and now you have to edit as html and then visually if you want to edit a post, I can understand they’ve messed up embedding posts.

    Sigh.

My guinea pig .wordpress.com doesnt have these problems. You can transfer your .com domain name to a wordpress.com site. It’s a matter of changing the servers it points to… the guinea pigs have their own domain name. There’s a fee of the order of £10 a year. (Of course).

Whether your mailing list/followers follow the domain name or not remains to be seen, but I think it might, because it isn’t down to WP.

  2. wow, I hope this has not been too frustrating for you, Chris! I have been following you for a long while and enjoy your posts (even though I do not read all of the writer’s post featured – but I know many folks value what you share.
So! I hope you are able to find a new way to share the way that you want to – and in a way that works for you.

  3. Ah, Chris… It feels like the end of an era — and it makes me sad. I know how much of your heart has gone into this blog over the years. Your commitment to helping indie authors is beyond anyone else I’ve ever seen.

While I really do hope that you can find an agreeable way to do *some kind* of regular posts, I understand the frustrations. If I didn’t need blogging as a means of connecting with people (due to my PTSD-Agoraphobia), I would have quit years ago myself. Yeah… I absolutely get it. Huge hugs winging to you.
