  1. Interesting video.

I have always thought that the tides on earth were the key to advanced life forming.

Habitable planets with the right ratio of oceans to land mass and a large tide generating moon does not seem to be factored into the equations for predicting the probability of life on other planets. That is likely why there is only one or two advanced civilizations in a galaxy. It might be rare enough that there would only be one in every 10 to 100 galaxies.

  2. I love that they still use a keyboard!

I can give you 8 billion reasons why we have a climate problem.

Wherever there is a beginning, there will always be a end. The amount of time in between those slices of bread Is up to you.

  3. I really do like this and it is rather current. I suppose it could be an answer to the Fermi Paradox. Though I prefer the one David Brin gave in his excellent novel “Existence” (lol and he serves on NASA’s Innovative and Advanced Concepts group and frequently does futurist consulting for corporations and government agencies. so as well as his handful of PhD’s I think this gives him an edge).

Lol but I think the answer is far simpler than either of the above idea’s; Simply, time, distance, space (itself) and approach to science. What use would sea creatures have for radio or micro waves? Floaters on Gas Giants, even predatory ones have for resonance.
perhaps our science is not “th”The” science.

      • Lol- you are right to think that way. I expect neither of your suspects to help. My big problem is I think that we are too self absorbed to get us out of this mess. Worse still….

It is now thought that Venus (yes, the nastiest planet in the solar system) was once like Earth. Green and verdant but due to a disruption (possibly a meteor) the volcanic core heated, the following eruptions, clouding the skies until its atmosphere was sucked into space. Now it is (what we imagine) Hell.

  4. Happy new week, Chris! Sorry, i had another delay last week. Currently i am used to plaster some walls in our old castle. I hope you had a nice weekend, but you can’t go to space, before our Bavarian Prime Minister wasn’t there. :-)) xx Michael
