Writing experts often want us to believe that there is only one worthwhile creative writing process. It usually goes something like this:

1. Brainstorm
2. Research
3. Outline
4. Rough draft
5. Revise (repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat)
6. Edit, proof, and polish
