Here’s my contribution to the list … 😀
Create your own style guide
Back up everything and document as you go. (dates, etc)
Learn how to format both an ebook and a print book. Amazon and Smashwords style guides are very detailed, and yes, a pain to follow sometimes, but worth taking the time to familiarise yourself with them.
Learn about the elements of cover design. (eg, what does it look like at thumbnail size,) Even if you can afford to pay someone else to create one, you need to know what will work and what won’t.
There will always be one typo, (at least) that escapes unseen. If you discover it, (and it’s not an obvious clanger) after you publish, let it go and continue writing the next book.
