There was an old ape who read books
Who used to get puzzled looks
As zoo visitors gazed
With eyes that were glazed
At the books he had stashed in his nooks
A friend emailed me this morning, with a reminder that it is National Limerick Day, (https://nationaltoday.com/national-limerick-day/). So, in honour of this event I have composed the below limerick:
There was a young lady named Gale
Whose activities made her mother turn pale.
She went out to sea
With a vicar called Lee,
And used her dress as a sail!

Love it! 🙂

Many thanks for sharing my post Chris. I enjoyed your limerick. I hope your books don’t become stuck in nooks as they can, I understand be quite difficult to remove …
