Great blogging advice from Diana 👍😃
This isn’t a new topic, but it seems worth a mention every now and then within the WordPress blog community. I love connecting with other bloggers and occasionally a website makes that hard if not impossible to do. Here are a few tips. 🙂
Definitely take a look at these if:
- You are leaving likes and comments on other blogs and not getting return visits.
- Everyone likes your old posts and seems to ignore your recent posts.
- You’ve changed your blog address at any time (WP may still be directing your readers to the old deleted site!)
1. Make sure your links to your site are working. Unfortunately, this isn’t handled in just one place:
- In your blog profile: Go to WP Admin – Users – My Profile. At the bottom of the page, make sure your website address is correct.
- In your gravatar: Go to WP Admin – Users…

Someone mentioned since I got the new site that I’m showing up 404, but I don’t know where and I need specifics to fix. I can’t see well it takes me awhile. Any advice on where to Look? I went from 100 views daily to 26 on a good day, so some are finding me, perhaps others are getting the 404 message. I know I’ve been seeing more of that when I visit other sites. Is It a wp problem globally a link break or other? Thanks in advance if you are able to offer suggestions😊

Your Gravatar image and link title work ok, Phyllis – but I see that your blog name link is faulty and needs to be corrected to:
http://www.covertnovelist.com
instead of:
https://covertnovelist.wordpress.com
Otherwise I had no problem getting back to your blog. 😎

Thank you so very much! Then that is what I shall see if I can rectify. I’m nearly blind, some days worse than others so it takes me awhile to figure stuff out. If I’m shown, I can put it into memory and then handle things more readily. Trying to read everything is difficult, then remembering all the steps makes it confusing and sometimes forgetable and I have to re-read again and again…I thank you from the bottom of me pump! So glad you answered, but also very glad you posted. Your post will assist many more. You rock!

Well, my son checked this end out and it is set up correctly and re-directing correctly so perhaps its WP being WP which wouldn’t surprise me at all. lol Thank you appreciate your input greatly.

Simple advice Chris and yet often overlooked. I’m about to go through a re-theme to try and upgrade the reader experience; not least because I write novels and short stories and excerpts drop of the blog roll and I want them to be found easily; possibly as featured posts re-cycling. Thanks for reminding me to check these things too 🙂

I am writing a blog post with apologies in advance for technical shouting and vile language cast at a machine that says “No!”
Thanks though 🙂
