Thanks to my good friend, author, poet and blogger, Kevin Morris, I now know how to make a Sticky Post for my home page.
What are Sticky Posts?
By default, WordPress.com blogs display posts in reverse chronological order on the home page with the latest post at the top. There isn’t a way to display posts in chronological order, but you can mark some posts as Sticky to make them appear above the other posts.
In other words, if there is a particular post you’d like your blog visitors to see when they land on your Home Page (where all your posts are displayed, latest post topmost), the Sticky Post is always displayed as if it was the latest post.
In my case, I’ve chosen one of the most popular posts I’ve written.
You Read – but do you leave REVIEWS?

This post has been reblogged, tweeted, retweeted and shared on Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ many times by my followers on all those media.
See example below.
How to make a WordPress Sticky Post?
Go into your WordPress Admin (see screenshot below of my Post Admin)
Select the post you want to make Sticky
Under PUBLISH, click on EDIT VISIBILITY
Select PUBLIC and tick the STICK THIS POST TO THE FRONT PAGE
Press the blue UPDATE button
You should now see your selected Sticky Post as the latest (or top) post on your Home Page even if you publish new posts.
Fantastic. I’m still bumbling my way around WP and I wondered what that feature meant. Now I know, thanks.

This is a great hint and I applied it to my blog page. It does make a difference on the appearance. I assume if a later post becomes your lead post, you can remove the sticky from the older and apply it to the new one. Am I correct?

From what I understand, you can select any post to become ‘Sticky’ – but be sure to un-stick the old one, or you might end up with two or more fighting to be the Top Sticky, Chuck 😱
