  1. Funny to find this post today, since I spent part of last night reciting AA Milne’s poems to my family – James, James, Morrison Morrison and Whatever’s the Matter with Mary Jane, among others. 🙂 🙂

  2. Singing, and reading rhythmic rhymes with meter (“…a good beat and you can dance to it”) uses different parts of the brain. Elderly patients with Alzheimer’s and/or dementia who have not been able to talk for years, can sing the words to songs they learned as children. Using multiple modes of learning that use different parts of our brain are crucial to me as a preschool special ed teacher.
