ā¦by any stretch of the measurement of age, this olā Scots Jurassic scribbler is no longer a youthā¦ I adulted around a-hem years agoā¦ and having become in recent years an Author, I have more than a passing interest in the comparatively new debate as to whether books are better in print or on an eReader such as Auntie Amazonās Kindleā¦ 
and despite being part of the, (a-hem again), āolderāgeneration, I have no negativity toward the modern downloaded reader versions of booksā¦ donāt mistake me ā I still enjoy immensely the feel of a paper book in my hands, and even, yes, the smell of the paper and the gum paste thats binds the spine (embādy else remember āsniffingā a new book?)ā¦ but times move on ā the electronic age has become an imbedded part of our lives whether we embrace it or not āā¦

Why I love the many things about libraries. I prefer to read on my Ipad though. I have the Ibook and Kindle apps. I find it is easier for me to hold, I can adjust the print size as needed, and I can open the pad and the correct page comes right up. But that is just me. Hugs

I think that in USA (confirmed in UK) that Libraries now have the facility to give out Library eBooks on loan (using Overdrive / Adobe, software / Apps) Scottie š

I looked up my local library that I have a card for. You are correct. They do have a lending program, but you do have to have an app for it. Ron says the nurses he works with also use that service. So we are going to look into it. I can do it from home on line. Hugs

As far as I remember, Overdrive is free, as is the Adobe reader – but you do need to sign up for an account with Adobe Scottie

Libraries are the stories you hear about ( then are gone with the sounds) or see on TV or movies (but disappear when the lights go on or off). Libraries let you hold the stories in your arms and press them into your heart.
