Contact information is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when you think about book sales. But what if someone needs 50 copies of your book but wants to call you to negotiate a bulk price? Will he find your phone number at your website within 10 seconds? Or will you make him search for it until he becomes so frustrated that he leaves?

  1. I agree that readers should have an easy way of contacting authors. However I confine my contact details to an email address (broken up to defeat spammers). I would be reluctant to include an address (other than perhaps a PO box) due to the danger (however remote) that a mentally unbalanced individual could pop by or bombard me with unsolicited mail. I have given my address to people with whom I have built up a good relationship online but am wary of giving it out to the world at large, which is what one is doing when placing it online. I might consider giving a phone number but certainly not my landline. Kevin
