  1. “Effect” is a verb, as well as a noun, meaning to cause or bring about, as in “effect change.” And “affect” is a noun, as well as a verb, meaning facial expression or body language, as in “she had a flat affect.” No wonder people confuse these! I know the difference very well and at times still find myself referring to the dictionary 🙂
