Several years ago I got a ticket for a couple of arguably close to 15 inch weeds growing at the edges of my sidewalk and steps. Meanwhile the abandoned properties on both sides of mine had FIFTEEN FOOT weeds (actually, if we want to to count the weed TREES we’d be talking about 35 feet!) growing up and over the porches and roofs… but since they were owned by the city, the city didn’t give itself tickets.
It made for a fun day in court. The judge couldn’t excuse the ticket on the grounds of the pix showing the weed comparisons, but he did eventually let me off through another route.
