Ha! My dad used to say that to me. And it worked… It worked because I was stunned by the stupidity of the comment. Obviously I already had something to cry about. 😉 Then one day as a young adult I told him what went through my childhood head when he’d said that. He gave me a dire look and after a long moment “As long as it worked,” he said.
