What kind of reader are you?

Kawanee Hamilton's avatar

I am a polygamist, monogamist, extrovert altruist reader. I burn through series that I like, I remember them. I love re-reading them. I do all this stuff, except the neurotic thing.. I almost always finish a book, unless it’s horrible and I cannot get into it.

That rarely happens. 🙂

  1. Manuscripts for our critiquing group – I can’t tick the Read box in Goodreads until they’re published, but that’s okay ’cause my manuscript(s) – for a couple of books I’m writing – also get critiqued. Time left over to read published works? Several books at a time which means my reading status looks static – sometimes for years!

  2. Actually Chris, I am the reader in the Chinese Restaurant. I’ll take some from column A, column B… 😉
Afraid I’m an introvert that refuses to be put back in a box! 🙂

  3. It seems one book at a time works for me. I am not limited by genre as I go from fiction to non fiction to spiritual and back again. I have a new rule, donate those I have read. Down to one book shelf now. I keep my favorites.

  4. Yes, if only it were that simple.I mainly, but don’t always, stick to one book at a time (excluding non fiction), I’ll re read favourites, I read across many genres and am always willing to try something new but don’t grab everything in sight, as a writer I obviously analyze, and while I don’t recommend a huge reading list (I think that just makes one a bore) I do recommend ones I think are outstanding,

  5. If it was as easy as that. Yes, I like to read several books at a time. But I return to favourite titles and reread those a lot. I start a lot of books and switch between them, and recommend a lot of books to family friends and sometimes my blog readers. I identify with the characters, but I do not stick to one genre, read almost everything filled with words (I make an exception for religious literature and too scientific non-fiction).
I doubt THESE tags in their purity fit many people.
