This is such an amazing article! Nobody has to convince me to handwrite anything, that’s my prefered method of writing. I have experienced by myself some of the things this article exposes: handwriting helps me remember things, it helps me focus, it’s more comfortable than typing on a computer or (gasp!) on a phone.
But I didn’t know that handwriting saves our energies. That’s incredible! So that’s probably why revising my stories on paper is less tiring than typing them on a pc. I’ve always thought it what only a matter of the eyes getting tire on the screen.
This niddle methode seem very effective. I think I’ll try it 🙂

I knew there would be a problem with learning when American schools removed cursive handwriting from schools. I agree with all of this post. My niece could not read a note from her grandmother in cursive. I don’t care what anyone says humans are tactile learners and use of hands/fingers in cursive helps them learn. Some people say that people are “visual” or other types of learning but it sure as hell didn’t hurt me or most of the people I knew in elementary, middle school, and high school to learn via tactile education. That includes art as well. I am very happy (since I don’t have to go online and complain about it) that the educational system here in the US has pretty caved and brought back the cursive handwriting. Plus I carry both a tablet (bad for novel writing, best for email checking) and a paper notebook, pens, pencil, and at times a clipboard!
JMHO,

And there’s nothing like putting my little granddaughter to bed with a BOOK, which I can leave with her so she can “read” it to herself.

Ha! Looks like I’m on to something, writing the first drafts of my novels and stories with pen on (scrap) paper!
