STAGES OF CHAOS: Depression

11057109_10206939875209214_3804274497200874889_nDarkness takes on an entirely new perspective when you reach the stage of depression. Chaos is hard enough to cope with and when you throw the ominous specter of depression into the mix, things can become lethal. Depression is when I felt like I had hit rock bottom, because I truly had.

As I remember how I felt, I can thank my closest friends for pulling me back from the brink. There were many, many times during that period that I wasn’t sure what my purpose was and if I even had one anymore. Thankfully, Bennie Blevins, my dearest friend from childhood, was there to take my hand and save me from a drastic decision that would have adversely impacted my child and my loved ones.

Remember, when the haunting spirit of depression rears its head, there’s help. Seek professional assistance or the attentive ear of a close friend. Talk and talk a lot. Don’t bottle things up.

Below is the video of the episode in YouTube where I discuss depression.

  1. It is peculiarly odd, when you normally talk the horn off a unicorn, you read write and play word games constantly but don’t speak when that’s all it takes.
Been there again thanks to Kathy and Liz who made me talk eventually. Thank you for reminding me. Off to send flowers for free ear-hole burning nine years ago.
