Sounds evil yet brilliant! I could see it now, multiple endings such as:
i) the Deus Ex Machina ending;
ii) the ending where everyone dies, even if it makes no sense to the overall plot;
iii) a murder mystery where the unmasked villain is different in each ending.
Makes me rub my hands together in wicked glee!

I actually read a book where the author put in two alternate endings. He then said the reader should choose which one they liked best. Now I may add this was before digital books and indie author’s.
It put me off reading another historical romance or any contemporary romance since I did not want find something like that again. I only picked up the genre recently and am still very skeptic. I do so only when I trust the author.

I always do that – write multiple endings to the same story. It’s a different issue that I’m not famous (yet) so it doesn’t matter what I do, or do not do. Maybe some day…

If I remember correctly Frederick Forsythe has already done this but only 2 different endings.

Everyone would be entertained and they’d buy all the different endings so they could choose their favorite. It would be a new path to the best seller list! You’d start a new trend. 🙂

Actually, I kind of like the idea. Taking the French Lieutenant’s Woman to the next level. It would be like Shakespeare actually saying, “I never wrote my plays, can you guess who did?” Better yet, promising a million dollars to the reader who finds the one book with the eleventh ending.
