That’s interesting as I also divided my book into four parts, basically in my mind: Act I, Act 2a, Act 2b, and Act 3. You are right, each one has their own purpose and rhythm. It also makes writing a novel less overwhelming knowing that whatever section you are writing is only about 100 pages or so rather than trying to create a monstrous 400+ page novel.
