I am acting my age! I’m 63 and this is what it’s like — I can run five miles (okay, slowly but I get there), I do yoga, I write in two genres to attempt to make a living (okay, truth again, I just added the genre of children’s picture book — in fact it is about aging, ironically!), I hang out with friends, I hang out with family, I love music and dancing, I just started a new hobby and I pretty much still love life (truth again, most of the time, sometimes it sucks). So, acting my age isn’t all bad. I never thought life at 63 would be this good, honestly. I was picturing silver hair and perhaps a walker and that ain’t happening so I am still rocking as best I can. (not in a chair!)

Just saying the phrase “acting your age” suggests acting your age is a bad thing. It doesn’t have to be. The goal is changing our view of age! Happy New Year, don’t think of it as another year of aging, think of it as another year of being alive and vibrant! 🙂

As I have never been this age before, it is safe to say that I can simply claim to be acting…
