I have always loved books and have read my way through stacks of them, so when Anita needed someone to edit and type up her manuscripts, I was happy to help and somewhere along the way, I discovered my vocation and my love-hate relationship with the world of computers. I learned how to edit and proofread and between us, managed to get Anita’s books ready for publication.  I had wonderful compliments from one of the best literary agents in London at the time, for my editing of Anita’s book, Bad Moon and for the last ten years since my retirement, that’s what my life has been like.

I had a ‘light bulb’ moment when everyone started talking about ‘Indie’ or self-publishing. I knew how hard it was to be published in the traditional way, so I became very excited at the prospect of being able to do it ourselves.

I started our website, and found that I enjoyed talking to people from all over the world and posting our thoughts on line. I concentrated on publishing Anita’s books, and it wasn’t quite as easy as they made it sound, but with my usual stubbornness I kept at it, learning more and more as I went along.

Somewhere along the way, I started thinking about a story that had been nibbling away in the corner of my mind for months and before too long, ‘The Ninth Life’ demanded to be written and I am very pleased with the outcome. Basically because the characters took charge and practically wrote it for me!

A year has passed and the sequel ‘The Last Life’ is ready to face the world. It wasn’t planned, at least not by me, but I think my characters have done a wonderful job! If only they could design their own book covers, I would be well pleased. Just when all hope of finding a good one that wouldn’t break the bank was almost lost, I discovered that my old friend Chris Graham (The Story Reading Ape) does a mean cover, and he saved the day!
