I’m a new writer on the block! I had two novels published last year and am working on having a third published this coming spring. I write fiction, but my books are based on my own life and the lives of those close to me.
The first book I wrote is a young adult speculative fiction/fantasy story. I like to call it introspective/philosophical fantasy. It is based on the hopes and dreams I had for my daughter who passed away many years ago. A lot of me (from my younger life) is in the main character as well as elements of what I hoped my daughter would learn as she made her way in the world. This title of this book is The Secrets Of Yashire: Emerging From The Shadows.
The second book I wrote, Breaking the Silence, is a women’s mainstream fiction book with inspirational elements. It is actually my life story written in a fictional memoir format in which the main character writes in her diary as she lays on bed rest for the duration of her pregnancy. It is a journey of hope, healing and recovery from sexual abuse and abuse related issues. It is also a tale of dreams come true as the main character awaits the birth of her child.
My writing is inspirational and stems from deep personal beliefs in spirituality. Spirituality has brought me through everything I’ve endured and held me fast in love and peace. I have come to realize that spirituality and love of family and friends are the most critical things in life. Everything else comes second. It is my hope that readers will find hope and inspiration in my books and that they will be a little happier or find more meaning in life after having read them. I would consider my job as a writer complete if I could achieve that task.
Hope and love are critical to happiness and I wish everyone finds both in their lifetimes. Writing is a gift..not only to the reader but to the writer as well. A gift and an opportunity to open new worlds of enlightenment, acceptance and happiness into view. It is a privilege I believe should not be taken for granted.

Your books sound beautiful, Diamante, and from such a personal, caring place. Good luck with them and thanks for sharing your gentle vision. I’m so sorry for the loss of your daughter, even though it was many years ago.
