Good stuff, Chris! I was more or less aware of that, but since I’ve extracted my work from the Select program, I feel less threatened (and less controlled by “you know who.” Good post.
I’m disappointed in you Ape. Please do not post any future articles without double-checking to whom/what they actually apply and how. Otherwise, you’re just fear-mongering and trying to attract readers via sensationalism, like RARE or BUZZFEED or whatever. You’re better than this.
I was using the information I’d read on Seumas’ blog about what happened to him Sally – I do not post for the sake of sensationalism- I’m disappointed that you thought I was that kind of blogger…
I do not think you are a “Sensationalist,” usually, Chris. That’s the reason that the headline for that article and how misleading it was disappointed me.
I respect your site and your choices a lot; you are a “key” informant for this indie! So, I engage with you rather than just shake my head and go away.
because I’m not an author or in any way connected to the publishing industry, I can only draw attention to what I read on other reputable blogs Sally – I’m sorry but I get so concerned about how Amazon treat authors that when I see something they’ve done to one, I try to alert everyone else.
Okay. Noted. There is a huge difference in the way Amazon “treats” authors who choose Select vs. Direct, and that is the main point of this confusion, today. Bears noting.
