If YOU are between 18-35 years old
why not give it a go
it’s FREE TO ENTER
😀
The Young Writer of the Year Award has been out of action for six years, but it now being revived under the sponsorship of The Sunday Times and agents Peters Fraser Dunlop (PFD) Past winners include Sarah Waters, Simon Armitage and Zadie Smith.
The Award is worth £5000 to the winner, is free to enter and is open to works of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry published between July 1st 2014 and June 30th 2015. What’s not to like? (Well, for me it could be that you have to be between 18-35 to enter…but that’s just sour grapes.)
PFD are actively looking for self-published talent and are keen to stress that the award is for quality, not popularity. Self-published authors with disappointing sales should enter if they believe in their work.
For further details, see http://www.petersfraserdunlop.com/prize/. To enter, go to http://www.societyofauthors.org/sunday-times-pfd. Deadline for entries: Tuesday 30th

I’ll have to keep eyes open for next year’s competition! I’ll still be in the good age range. 🙂

I don’t have any viable project for this. I took a Galaxy of Possibilities down to revise it (hoping it’ll come out this summer/fall) and the only other piece I have is a short booklet on Kindle. While I love Before Mako Came Yoko, I’d rather submit a more substantial piece (and my novella for kids is in French). Next year, I’ll have more to pick from. 🙂
