Hello Readers, I’m Tracy Kauffman, an author from a small town in Alabama. I thought I’d share a few things about me that I thought you might want to know.
First of all, I can’t seem to make up my mind. I guess this is what makes me a great author. Ideas just keep flowing in my head and I just can’t seem to get them all down on paper. I guess you can say that is a good thing but my family thinks I’m a little nuts. Over the last couple years I decided to go out on a limb and publish books. I started my own Publishing company called: KG Books. It is fun and rewarding to help others because I know how hard it is to get books published, especially if you are a new author, so I try to help new authors by mentoring them. Anyway, if you need help, give me a line.
When I was a teenager, I started to write poetry, which I loved. When I saw that I could get some of them published in a Poetry Anthology, I took them up on it. My first poem was titled: The Cosmetology Student. I was taking Cosmetology classes and some of the mishaps that happened was quite funny, so I thought I would write a poem about them. It happened so long ago, so I don’t even remember the book it was placed in. From there I wrote more and more poems and later started writing fantasy type stories about space; none of them were published.
As I got much older, I really wanted to explore the writing industry. Someone said write about what you know, so I wrote a memoir about my life, Titled: Southern Adventures. After Tate Publishing decided to take me on as a client, I continued writing. I enjoy writing for kids and children but also have written a few religious type books.
It is hard to define me by one group of books because I will write about anything I find interesting to write about. Other works are: Southern Attraction, Richard the Lionheart, Gwendolyn’s Wish, A Closer Walk, Walking With the Father, Captain Honey Bear, and My Boyfriend the Squire.
My other projects are:
- I started a website called: Literary Directory. It is a great place for people to showcase their books and search other people’s books as well.
- I started my own publishing company, KG Books. I have published a handful of books including: Blindsided by James Copeland, Anomaly by Michael Gilwood, and How Bees Came to Make Chili by Terry Bradley. I helped with developmental editing and marketing, as well as other things.
- I really enjoy helping other authors get their books to print. That is why I decided to coach other authors too. My website is: Writing Coach.
- I have Gigs on Fiverr as well. I make book trailers for $5. I will not make trailers for books that I don’t find appropriate, such as: Occult, Witchcraft, Anti-Religion, Adult Only or Zombie books.
So today, I want to introduce one of my books that I wrote for teenagers. I named it Southern Attraction because it seems to fit.
It was written about a northern girl trying to make it in the south.
She loses her parents and everything she has known to have to go to a small town in Alabama and start completely over.
People don’t seem to like her at first.
They think she is a little snooty but she does finally settle down and become part of the crowd.
Not only is she beautiful and talented but great with helping others.
She organizes a fundraiser to help the town after a huge tornado comes and cleans out almost everything.
Of course the story wouldn’t be a great story without a little romance to add to it.
I’m sure you’ll love this story, so please give it a try.
Thanks!
Tracy
