
My name is Mary Esparza-Vela and I am an award-winning author. While working as an Editorial Assistant, I won various awards and was selected as “Civilian of the Year.” My winning stories include an Honorable Mention from Writers Digest and a 1st Place short story. I am also the inventor of three plush dolls that received “Preferred Choice“ and “Seal of Excellence“ awards from a panel made up of parents and educators. TDMonthly Toy Magazine featured them as “winning toys.” The dolls, named Hunee, Kyzzie, and Sweetz, appeared on TV and made newspaper headlines. Their first adventure book has been published in English and Spanish. The titles are: You Can’t Take the Dinosaur Home and No Puedes Llevarte el Dinosaurio a Casa. Other adventures coming soon are: Lost on Christmas Eve, The Rock Moved, and Learning About Veggies.
In addition, my husband and I have published the following dual-language books: The Ant Who Can’t/La Hormiga Que No Puede (Oct 2013), Animal Stories/Cuentos de Animales (Jan 2014) and The Lazy Dog/El Perro Perezoso (Feb 2014). Coming soon: The Littler Car and The Grumpy Catfish.
There’s a Lion in the House
Children’s Picture Book, Ages 4-8
Synopsis: A young rabbit loves to tease his older brothers. He goes off into the woods by himself and boasts that he’s not afraid of anything. One night, he hears a lion roar in the house. He tells his brothers but they ignore him.
Our books are humorous and teach lessons. They have vivid illustrations and are targeted for ages 4-8 and two books come with unique plush dolls
