Thank goodness I’m not the only one sitting too long without considering the effects! Thanks for pointing us in the direction of the article…I’m off to jog around the block. Well, okay, walk around my desk – but it’s a start 🙂

I find myself sitting at the desk for hours at a time and am in the habit of jer, jer, jiggling my legs and flexing my calf muscles so that I no longer notice. My stomach may be that of Billy Bunter but my legs are those of Nijinsky (the horse) and hopefully I’m offsetting some of the negativity of sitting since I rarely notice the time passing.

I get jerky legs if I sit too long 🙂

My risk are doubled: I work a desk job 40 hours a week, and then I go home and sit on the couch and write. I’m just asking for a heart attack. Rule of thumb is to get up every hour and move. I’m hoping that helps. Great post. Thanks for sharing this. I don’t think enough people know about the risk of sitting long term.

And even those who know about it tend to forget 😀
DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) is a killer because of the clotting, if the clots go through the heart or brain, it’s TOAST TIME 😦
