BE(A)WARE of TWOO

BE AWARE

TWOO may not be for you

I recently received an email from an Organisation called TWOO, claiming that one of my author friends had invited me to join.

Since I like to keep in touch with all the authors I know, I went through the process and joined without first checking it out.

BIG MISTAKE!!!!!

Be aware that it is NOT an authors hangout, or another Facebook / Twitter / Google+ / etc, alternative!

During the sign in process, it raided my email contacts and has already sent “Invitations” from “ME” to my contacts.

If you have received such an invite, please CHECK FIRST if you REALLY want to join it – I cannot find any way to leave it or cancel anything it has done.

DO NOT JOIN or ACCEPT the invite unless you REALLY want to MEET NEW PEOPLE!!!!!

  1. I had never heard of twoo until all of a sudden I got an email claiming I had a message from someone I don’t know. I tried to unsubscribe, but I had to login first. I did not sign in with Facebook nor did I fill in any personal information. The next email I get is welcoming me and wanting me to add a password. They used my email address without permission and even used part of my email address as a log in name which is something I would never do. So be aware that it fishes your information wether you sign up or not.

  3. Hi Chris. Thank you for the info on TWOO. I almost signed up. Hope you get your situation sorted out with them. Maybe you can contact the Advertising Agency which is a governing body. They are obviously lying when they offer signing up with your facebook account.
