
Hi SEers! Denise here to talk about writing for different age groups. I started off as a middle-grade children’s writer. I also had adult stories wanting to be explored too. How different is it to write for children and adults?
Let’s see what some of the differences are:

Baby Books, Preschool and Early Readers. The target age group is 0-8 (up to second grade). For the younger end of this age group, it’s all about the colorful pictures and short simple text to go along with it. There is a message, lesson/learning, or story included that will read by the adults to the child. These are books can be gifts for expectant parents and a good place for beginning readers to start out. Word counts are limited, as is the baby or child’s attention span.
