That is so wise. I used to get quite depressed because every time I looked at my work (after a few months) I used to see something that wasn’t quite the way I wanted it. I used to think will it ever be finished. Then I read one of my favourite authors Gore Vidal (who to me is a writer’s writer) saying that at one stage he revised all his published novels because when he read them he only saw the faults. Then I thought, you know what perhaps I’m not so bad; not that much of an amateur!
