I actually do this! My phone is my e-reader, so I’ve been known to whip open the Kindle app when bored. Standing in line is a great time to read. 🙂

These days, the dead spots are often filled with (or created by) smart phones. But it’s true there’s nothing like a book to get one through a long wait. E-readers (with reliable batteries) are just the thing, (especially if you’re reading one of Mr. King’s larger tomes).
