we are what we read
the facts and the fictions
that spring from the
soul of a writer
attach to our genome
adsorb to our helices
polymath layers that
coat our identity
dressed to step out
into civilization

we are what we read
a literate essence
whose worth all depends
on the worth of the thoughts
taken straight off the pages
we choose to believe
pages run with the
ink and the sweat
someone else spent
enriching our ken

  2. Paul F. Lenzi is an amazing poet, I am a big fan. Paul kindly sent me one of his books and it was inspiring (I recently bought two more from Amazon and will be posting a photo on my blog when they arrive). Mr Lenzi also kindly wrote the blurb for my debut collection of poetry, a real honour for me to have someone I admire so much do this. Good of you to share his post, I hope it gets him some more readers, the legend deserves an audience. Best wishes to all from Kieran ‘Baldy’ Davis 🙂
