I once wrote a book and fell in love with one of the characters, but when I tried to make him fall in love with me, he wasn’t interested – the other characters in the book were so much more attractive!

Haven’t you hated it when your main hero falls in love with a virtuous person of the other /the same sex – and all those dreams come to a shattering end?
I hated it with Dorothy Sayers, when she married Lord Peter Wimsey off – and I hated it with Elizabeth George even more!
