I started using Grammarly a few months ago and I like it. It has a free version so if you’d like to try it out I’ve included a link to the site. There is, of course, a premium version but the free version works pretty well for me, for now. I like getting the updates in my email telling me how I did that week. 🙂

Free version is a lil misleading. It just downloads for free on ur laptop. But if you want to run a manuscript/ draft for grammar checks, it still asks you to pay the fees for its schemes.

It does if you have it on all the time because it’s constantly checking, even your tweets!! So I just go to the website and copy my stuff in it. Works great 🙂

Can it grammar check a whole manuscript on the website? I use the free Grammarly but it won`t work with my word programme, I use the free open office.org.

I’ve not used it myself Adele (I use Libre Office and Apple’s Pages), you’ll need to try it out with a chapter or synopsis copy (separate from your manuscript to avoid any possible corruption issues) 🐵
Good Luck with it, but remember that software should NEVER replace a professional editor, only reduce the number of errors before you send your MS to an editor 😃

That is very true Chris. I have found a wonderful editor who is editing my novel Wisp. Her name is Diane Tibert I think she will be on both our blog lists. The positve feedback and the way she explains to me is fantastic. I have dyspraxia which includes mild dyslexia and she takes this into account.

yes, you can copy and paste into the website, I’m not sure about how MUCH you can do though. Maybe a few pages at a time?
All else fails, google docs is pretty good too.
