It’s interesting how “our side” of the face of the moon is so much more interesting than the other side. The giant “maria”(?) have given us a far more fascinating object to look at over the millennia than if we’d just had a blank grey/white (to the naked eye) orb up in the sky (I don’t think anything other than that one darkish spot up around the 10 o’clock point would have been visible to anyone before the telescope was invented.
Good grief! The moon is getting like Mount Everest – a dumping ground!

Are there no dustbins on the moon? Could we not dot a few around and have them emptied once a fortnight by chaps from the council?
