  1. Seems jealous is used to mean both jealous and envious these days and sentences ending in preposition in written and oral sentences rampant. Often I do not catch myself ending in preposition when speaking but when I write I use “in which I wrote” not “what I wrote in.” The speech determiners have become “grammorons”. Hmmm. Hey, I’ve just coined a new word !

  2. When and how did “conflicted” enter the language as predicate adjective? Sounds like a past tense verb. “I conflicted you.” (huh?) Not even a proper word. Shouldn’t it be “He was in conflict.” as adverb preposition? “His opinion conflicts with mine.” seems OK though as verb.
