Dude, I can totally see my house in that picture! 🙂 Actually, I can see a very faint spot of light that MAY be Portales, Clovis, and Cannon AFB combined, a little bit east of the much larger smudge of light that is Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
Anyone else notice that WordPress snow looks like a meteor shower as it goes across the picture?

Really indicative of electrified areas. I hate the fact we have so much light pollution that we can’t see the stars as well as our planet can be seen. But it is still a beautiful place to see, night or day.

I agree about the light pollution Noelle, but then, humans, like all animals with eyes, are afraid of what the dark is hiding 😀

The squirrel head was a real treat. He’s currently regarding a remote controlled plastic mouse we bought for him today with some interest – I think the feather on it’s tail is attractive.

Thinking of the stark contrast between the congested lit areas and the seemingly uninhabited dark areas Audrey? 🙂

Yes — the brightest spots are either the most densely populated (say, Europe and Japan) or using the most energy (eastern North America). But look at Africa (gives a new meaning to that old cliche “the dark continent). These are definitely pictures that say a whole lot!
