 As someone who has just turned 70 this year, I do find it hard sometimes to maintain a more youthful outlook on life, especially in the face of ageism that riddles society. But it does have its benefits!

 Advancing Years

As
I view
my body
in the mirror
it is clear to see
that the passage of time
has created some changes
to the original blueprint
but at least the years have shown goodwill
by sparing my mind from their advances.

Mind
body
and spirit
strive not to lose
the urge to explore
outside the barriers
created by young ageists
who dictate terms of existence
for those who have reached a certain age
