Thank you very much, Marcia! I agree wholeheartedly. People don’t realize that if you send an editor a mess, they’re going to be so focused on fixing the mess (that perhaps you could’ve fixed yourself, if only you’d taken the time) that they won’t be able to spend time on teaching or pointing out other areas where you can improve. Most editors love teaching (within reason). 😀

So well said. I LOVE the editing process because it’s where I learn the most. I have a chance to tweak things to make them tighter and better, and to polish my skills in the hopes the next book will be even stronger.
