  1. Very cool – thanks for sharing. These deco-era vehicles are really stylish! I have a feeling the petrol tankers were often especially decked out in ‘streamline’ styling to give them a more modern look – there were a few US-sourced ones rumbling around NZ at the time too, looking more like something out of Flash Gordon than anything of the period. Tres cool!

  2. Thanks for sharing these photo, Chris. I LOVE unusual old vehicles! In fact, in one of my books, CHUMP CHANGE, I have a slow speed freeway chase across West L.A., featuring a restored old Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile.

    I love these. The look amazing. I love things that are different and have style. These have style. They were made not worrying about fuel mileage. Some of the features are simply there to add to the looks. I also think we should bring back the wheel well covers.
