Further to the PayPal email scam reblog HERE, my friend and Professional Editor Susan Uttendorfsky alerted me of the following email scam purporting to be from Amazon:

Beware of Amazon scams, too! I just received this today, and it’s a new one. I logged into Amazon from my bookmark and found no such issue:

  1. There are so many scams in this manner with many people simply being too trustful in what they deem as a company they have used for a long time. Banks, credit cards, even donations scams…. It is good to see people like yourself spreading the way that scams are worked. This way more people will simply press ‘delete’ rather than the link in the e-mail.

  2. There are so many red flags in that one!

Any email that says it’s going to close your account is 101% scam.
Log in through a link is scam.
Verify identity is a big red flag.

Regardless of company, any email with these red flags should be treated as probable scam. Always go directly to the site if in doubt. Don’t use email links!
