This article was utterly fascinating! I read the whole thing even as it got more putrid as it went on! I was in the medical field years ago and always found it fascinating. Thanks for sharing! 😘
I’ve heard of the one in North Carolina — I figured it was the only one… Oops!
To Annette’s comment… When I was 16 my father gave me 3 career choices. He’d put a lot of thought into this and was quite sincere. (BTW, i was a very girly girl at 16.) I could be an auto mechanic (like my uncle), a 18 wheeler truck driver (like my father) or a mortician (like the richest man in town). My father was hugely disappointed when I didn’t want to be a mortician. He thought it would be a good personality fit, and (most seriously and sincerely said –) I would never be out of work. Hugs!
There’s one in Quantico, VA, too. Have you been to the one near you, Noelle? I’d love to do a follow-up piece. Something like, “How I Survived the Body Farm.” LOL

Great post. We have a Body Farm here in North Carlina, too, at Western Caroline University!

A most fascinating read. Takes me back, 20+ years to the days when I worked in a funeral home.
